Title:
CEMENT ADMIXTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2595404
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the affinity when a thermoplastic resin foam is intimately mixed with cement and to improve its compatibility by reducing the volume of the pulverized matter of the thermoplastic resin foam by friction heat, thereby imparting rugged parts on the surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: This cement admixture consists of the thermoplastic resin foam which is formed by subjecting the granular bodies 1 having the closed cells 1a obtd. by pulverizing the thermoplastic resin foam to the volume reduction by the friction heat and has the rugged parts on the surfaces. Waste of foamed resin moldings can be utilized for the above-mentioned admixture and, therefore, the inexpensive production of lightweight concrete is possible. Since this lightweight concrete contains the granular bodies 1 having the closed cells 1a, the concrete is able to have heat insulating and soundproofing properties. This admixture is intimately mixed with cement together with aggregate, such as sand and gravel, by which the weight of the resulted concrete is reduced. Further, the impartation of the heat insulating and soundproofing properties is possible as well. The admixture has the closed cells 1a and elasticity and the voids in the cement paste are increased.
