Title:
超硬合金及びその製造方法、並びに超硬工具
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP5314807
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
[Problem] To improve the lubricating properties of a superhard alloy that constitutes a tool base, while maintaining the mechanical strength. [Solution] A superhard alloy which comprises tungsten carbide (WC) and a binding metal that bonds the grains of the WC to one another, wherein at least some of the WC grains have a two-layer structure composed of a WC core and a tungsten-carbonitride peripheral structure formed on the periphery of the WC core and have been thereby made to have the ability to reduce friction. This superhard alloy is produced from a superhard-alloy raw-material powder obtained by mixing a WC powder with a binding metal powder for bonding WC grains. The superhard-alloy raw-material powder is compacted to form a powder compact. The powder compact is sintered by heating and is nitrided in a pressurized nitrogen atmosphere. Thus, a superhard alloy is obtained in which at least some of the WC grains have a two-layer structure composed of a WC core and a tungsten-carbonitride peripheral structure.
