To provide a centering tool for a tool replacement device and a centering method for a tool replacement device for centering a tool replacement device with high accuracy and heightening the efficiency of centering work.
This centering tool 3 includes a holder 9 gripped by a turning arm 7 and a transposition part 11 provided on the holder 9 to be transferred and having a taper shaft 10 fitted to a spindle taper hole. With the holder 9 gripped by the turning arm 7, the taper shaft 10 of the transposition part 11 is fitted to the spindle taper hole, and according to a misalignment amount between the spindle 1 and the tool replacement device 2, the transposition part 11 is transposed to the holder 9 to transfer the misalignment amount to the centering tool 3. Accordingly, the misalignment amount transferred to the centering tool 3 is measured to find the correction amount of the spindle 1 in the tool replacement position, whereby the tool replacement device can be centered with high accuracy and the efficiency of centering work can be heightened.
