Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a ceramic composite having high fracture toughness.
CONSTITUTION: This ceramic composite consists essentially of a ceramic matrix 1 and platy particles 2a, 2b dispersed in the matrix and the average particle diameter of the platy particles 2b in the interior of this composite is larger than that of the platy particles 2a in the surface.
