Abstract:

To enable the easy electronic hand-writing input of a character or the like in the same manner as a person normally writes characters with a pen on a desk or wall.

This character input device is formed in a pen-shape having a position information reading part 10 for reading position information when it traces on the desk at the tip. When a user traces with the position information reading part at the tip on the desk, the position is detected and translated to a character, and the character is displayed on a character display part 8.
