Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow positive full charging of a battery set by determining the number of battery elements in the battery set correctly.
CONSTITUTION: A battery detecting means 40 and a microcomputor 50 detect the gradient of battery voltage rise of a battery set 2 prior to start of charging thus deciding whether the battery set 2 is in the state of immediately after deep discharge. Low current charging time is then varied depending on the decision results so that the number of battery elements can be determined correctly.
