Title:
CHARGE AND DISCHARGE CONTROL METHOD OF NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005085566
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce deterioration of capacity due to charge and discharge cycle in a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, or in a battery pack combining a plurality of these as a unit cell, which comprises a positive electrode that has a layer structure and contains, as a positive electrode active material, a lithium transition metal complex oxide containing at least Ni and Mn as a transition metal and a negative electrode that contains a carbon material as a negative electrode active material and has the initial charge and discharge efficiency higher than that of the positive electrode.

By a control circuit 3 incorporated in an equipment using a secondary battery or a battery pack, or in the secondary battery or the battery pack, the voltage of the unit cell constituting the secondary battery or battery pack is monitored, and the discharge is controlled so that the discharge termination voltage of each battery 1 may be 2.9 V or more.
