In this charging apparatus for a sintering raw material having a screen-like chute 2 provided under the raw material supplying mechanism 1 of a sintering machine, a screen constituting member 5 is provided movably in the longitudinal direction, one ends of the adjacent two members 5 or two sets of screen constituting member group are connected by a chain 9, which is wound on rotatable driven sprocket wheels 12. Simultaneously, the other ends of the members 5 or the group are connected to the driver of a chain sprocket wheel type or rack and pinion type or cylinder type driving unit 16, and the adjacent two members 5 or the group are moved in opposite directions by the unit 16.
