Abstract:
To provide an electrifying roller that quickly eliminates potential unevenness caused by the frictional electrification between the electrifying roller and an electrophotographic photoreceptor.SOLUTION: An electrifying roller has a conductive shaft core body and a conductive layer as a surface layer. The conductive layer has a matrix including a crosslinked product of first rubber and a plurality of dispersed domains. Each of the domains includes a crosslinked product and conductive particles. The volume resistivity of the domains is lower than the volume resistivity of the matrix. The surface resistance value of the electrifying roller is 1.0×10-1 Ω or more and 1.0×103 Ω or less. In 50% by number or more of domains of all the domains, two surfaces of six surfaces of an envelope cuboid of a domain to be determined are surfaces passing through an arbitrary one point in the domain and orthogonal to a line segment L orthogonal to a surface of the shaft core body. When the length in an X-axis direction of the envelope cuboid is x, the length in a Y-axis direction is y, and the length in a Z-axis direction is z, x is longer than y and z. A line segment S orthogonal to the line segment L and parallel to the X-axis can be drawn.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
