In this chemical agent adding apparatus having a chemical agent container and a water passing channel, a water flow resistance element is provided in the water passing channel and the pores allowing the chemical agent container and the water passage channel to communicate with each other are provided to the water flow resistance element on the upstream and downstream sides of the water flow resistance element and the cross section of the water flow resistance element in the water passing channel is made variable.
