Abstract:
To provide a method for chemical decontamination of a nuclear power plant capable of improving the reduction decontamination effect on the inside of the shell of a heat exchanger provided in a piping system of a nuclear power plant.SOLUTION: Both ends of a circulation pipe of a chemical decontamination device are connected to RHR piping of an RHR system (S1). Gases (for example, air) are supplied to a lower end of a shell side area formed in the shell of a heat exchanger provided in the RHR piping, and then an oxalic acid aqueous solution is supplied to the lower end of the shell side area (S5). A gas-liquid two-phase flow (an oxalic acid aqueous solution containing gases) containing oxalic acid and gases, which is supplied to the lower end of the shell side area, rises toward an upper end of the shell side area. Using the oxalic acid contained in the gas-liquid two-phase flow, reduction decontamination is performed on the inside of the shell of the heat exchanger. The gases contained in the gas-liquid two-phase flow are discharged from the shell side area, and then separated from the oxalic acid aqueous solution by an automatic exhaust valve arranged above the heat exchanger. Using the remained oxalic acid aqueous solution, reduction decontamination is performed on the inside of the RHR piping connected to the heat exchanger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
