Abstract:
To provide a crosslinked chitosan containing neither unreacted material causing side effects nor the like, high in safety and biocompatibility and usable as a biomedical material.
The chitosan derivative is obtained by bonding the chitosan with a compound of below-mentioned general formula (1) by a covalent bond. HOOC-(CR1R2)n-NH-COCH=CH-Ph (1) (wherein, R1 and R2 are each independently H or a lower alkyl; Ph is phenyl or a phenyl substituted with a 1-4C lower alkyl or alkoxy, an amino or hydroxy; and n is an integer of 1-18).
