A choke device having a choke valve 13 arranged in an intake flow channel of an engine and reducing a flow channel crosssectional area by changing from an open state to a closed state has choke valve closing means 40, 50, 60 automatically changing the choke valve from the open state to the closed state according to the starting of the engine and thereafter completing the drive of the choke valve, a biasing means 130 biasing the choke valve in a direction changing the choke valve from the close state to the open state, choke valve opening movement delaying means 110, 120 generating a resist force to a changing movement from the closed state to the open state of the choke valve by the biasing means and delaying a time when the open state is established.
