To provide a choke device for automating operation with a simple and inexpensive configuration.
A choke device includes a choke valve 13 arranged in an intake flow passage 11 of an engine for reducing a flow passage cross-sectional area of the intake flow passage by shifting to a closing state from an opening state, and includes: power generation means 30 and 40 driven by the engine and generating electric power; an electric actuator 50 for shifting the choke valve to the closing state from the opening state by receiving electric power supply from the power generation means; electric power supply-cutoff means 40 and 41 for cutting off the electric power supply to the electric actuator in response to a rotational increase in the engine; an energizing means 130 for energizing the choke valve in a direction for shifting to the opening state from the closing state; and choke valve opening operation delay means 110 and 120 for delaying a timing of becoming the opening state by generating drag against shifting operation to the opening state from the closing state of the choke valve by the energizing means.
