Title:
CHOLESTEROL-REDUCED FEED FOR FOWL AND LIVESTOCK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2622511
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a cholesterol-reduced feed for fowls and livestock capable of reducing cholesterol in produced fowl eggs or livestock meat by supplying the feed to laying hens or the fowls and livestock for meat.
CONSTITUTION: This cholesterol-reduced feed is obtained by using a deodorized scum oil produced in a process for refining an edible vegetable oil therein. The resultant deodorized scum oil is added or blended in the feed or adsorbed on an inorganic excipient. A phytosterol which is one of ingredients thereof is capable of inhibiting the absorption of the cholesterol by continuously supplying the resultant feed to fowls such as laying hens or livestock. Furthermore, linolic acid and linolenic acid which are other ingredients are capable of synergistically acting with the phytosterol. As a result, cholesterol in products such as fowl eggs or livestock meat is reduced.
