This chuck device 6 fixes and holds a side gear 3 by pressing a clamp mechanism part 5 from the inside to a peripheral wall of a circular hole 4, by inserting the clamp mechanism part 5 into the circular hole 4 formed in the side gear 3. The clamp mechanism part 5 has two clamp pieces 15 and 15 pressed to the peripheral wall of the circular hole 4 of the side gear 3, and a draw piece 18 vertically movably arranged in a central part of these clamp pieces 15 and 15 and expanding and contracting an outside diametrical dimension of the two clamp pieces 15 and 15 in response to a contact position with an inner surface inside of the clamp pieces 15 and 15. A plurality of kinds of side gears 3 different in the inside diametrical dimension are clamped by one chuck device 6 by expanding and contracting the outside diametrical dimension of the clamp pieces 15 and 15 by vertically moving this draw piece 18.
