Abstract:
PURPOSE: To impart sufficient joining strength between mutual billets and to execute stable continuous hot rolling without breaking separation of sheet because discrepancy and buckling of sheet that are generated at the time of butt joining sheets are avoided.
CONSTITUTION: At least a pair of clamping arms 3a, 3b with which the rear end part of a billet 1 which is precedingly transported and the tip part of a billet 2 which is succeedingly transported are respectively and vertically clamped are provided and driving means for moving the arms toward the end parts of the opposite billets as clamping the billets respectively with the main body parts of these arms are provided.
