To provide a polish-cleaning method which can automatically perform without needing a hand-work and cleans the inner surface of a mold after polish-cleaning at high degree, and a polish-cleaning device which serves to the performance of this method, in the polish-cleaning method for cleaning the inner surface of the mold for VAR (vacuum arc remelting).

An impeller type shot-blasting device is inserted into the inner part of the mold, and the impeller (11) is rotated while ascending/descending and round-type grids are injected into the inner surface of the mold (4), and after removing the stuck materials on the inner surface of the mold with the impact, remaining powdery foreign matters are wiped by rotating the mold while pushing a mop (21) on the inner surface of the mold and the cleaning is finished. The polish-cleaning device is made to a common device of a mold carriage (3) for shifting the mold laid on this carriage and constituted by combining the shot-blasting mechanism (I) and the wiping mechanism (II).
