To maintain polishability and to prevent the partial damage of metallic surfaces by constituting the cleaning and polishing article of a base material which has a matrix for absorbing and holding another components in a base material and has a polishing component on the surface and an emulsion, which is held at this matrix and consists of org. solvent contg. ≥1 plant oil, terpene, etc., a surfactant, etc., respectively consisting of specific compounding ratios.
This cleaning and polishing article for metals and glass fibers consists of the base material, which has the matrix for absorbing and holding another components in the base material and has the polishing component for permanently forming at least part of the surface, and the emulsion which is held at the matrix. The emulsion consists of 5 to 40 wt.% emulsifiable org. solvent contg. ≥1 among aliphat. liquid, dibasic ester, plant oil, terpene, alcohol and polyol, 1 to 15 wt.% surfactant, 1.1 to 24 wt.% oxide removing agent, 0.5 to 10 wt.% emulsifier and 15 to 70 wt.% water.
