To provide a clear coating material composition which provides a clear coating film on the uppermost layer of a multilayer coating film formed on the surface of an automobile, and which has high chemical resistance and dry scratch resistance, and has high car wash scratch resistance and high recoat adhesion.SOLUTION: A clear coating composition contains a hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (A), a hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (B), a polyfunctional isocyanate compound (C) and an aminoplast resin (D), wherein the hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (A) has a glass transition temperature of 20-35°C, a hydroxyl value of 100-200 mgKOH/g and a solubility parameter of 9.5-11.5, and includes 20-40 mass% of alicyclic (meth)acrylate with respect to the total solid content of the hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (A), the hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (B) has a glass transition temperature of 15-30°C, a hydroxyl value of 150-250 mgKOH/g and a solubility parameter of 10.5-12.5, the solubility parameter of the hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (A) is lower than the solubility parameter of the hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (B), difference between the solubility parameters is 0.5 or more, and blending amounts of the components (C) and (D) are further controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: None
