Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a clutch device in which engagement can be freely obtained in any phase by sharpening the ridge line part of the addendum of a tooth of triangular section in a teeth head-on engagement type clutch without providing any flat part.
CONSTITUTION: In a head-on claw clutch, teeth of triangular section are cut along the circumference of a clutch main body at equal intervals, and the addendum ridge line M and the bottom trough line V of a clutch tooth intersect at one point on the axis. Further facilitating machining, the angle (f) at which the axis meets with the center line between the addendum ridge line M and the bottom trough line V is set to be 90°, hence the form of a driving shaft side tooth is same as the form of a driven shaft side tooth, although the phases of the teeth are not conformed to each other at engaging the clutch, the teeth are face-contacted with each other at the side parts of the teeth because of sharp addendum. When the addendum angle and the shaft force are appropriately selected, both clutch teeth can be smoothly engaged with each other in any phase.
