PURPOSE: To utilize the clutch for a power transmitting device for a fishing boat and an industrial machine by cutting a high-pressure pipe and a thick steel plate, gas welding these elements, and partially lathing such assembly to manufacture the clutch simple in demounting, mounting and adjusting.

CONSTITUTION: A clutch case 3 is formed from a high-pressure pipe, and an outer portion of an output shaft key 2 is formed from a thick steel plate. Ends of the members 2 and 3 are cut at 45°, and are welded together at 22 to obtain an assembly. The assembly is lathed. A threaded portion of a screw socket 9 is cut about 1/4, and is inserted into a hole 11. A collar ring 12 is mounted and fixed by set bolts 13. A structure constructed of a pressed plate 4, a band iron 5 and a pressed plate 6 is provided with an adjusting bolt 7 welded and projecting from the band iron 5. The adjusting bolt 7 is inserted into a spring 10, and the structure is received in the screw socket 9. A clutch engaging/ releasing member 19 is adjusted in its engaging degree by an adjusting double nut 8 threadedly engaging the adjusting bolt 7. The structure is split to two sections, and when the clutch is released, a space of several mm is defined in the clutch 3 by the spring 10.
