PURPOSE: To surely discharge slag by constituting the whole of the device of the compact structure by successively connecting a gasifying chamber for feeding coal and gasifying agents, gasifying chamber for the conversion of the gas flow from a descent flow to an ascent flow and a gas cooling device, inside a pressure container.
CONSTITUTION: As for a coal gasifying device 1, the first gasifying chamber 3 in a straight cylinder shape having a cooling surface 3a inside a pressure container 2 is accommodated, and at the upper end, each feeding port 5 for the coal 5, oxygen 6, air 7, or char 8 is opened. Further, a U-shaped gas passage of the second gasifying chamber 4 having a cooling surface 4a at the lower outlet end of the first gasifying chamber 3 is connected, and the gas flow is applied with the conversion from a descent flow to an ascent flow. Further, a gas cooler 11 is connected through a sharp cooled gas feeding inlet 10 with the upper outlet end of the second gasifying chamber 4, and the generated gas is cooled. At the bottom part of the second gasifying chamber 4, a slag discharge port 9 for discharging the molten slag is opened. Accordingly, the whole of the device is constituted of the compact structure, and the molten slag can be discharged surely.
