Abstract:

To provide a method of treating shredder dust permitting an improvement in the recycle rate by removing copper in the dust and a roll collapsing apparatus for coarse granules for the method.

The method comprises crushing, coarsely with a roll collapsing apparatus for coarse granules equipped with a collapsing roll, coarse granules produced by subjecting shredder dust preliminarily to rough separation of metal and melting and solidifying the dust to the state that resin and metal are separated, crushing the coarsely crushed product finely with a vibration mill and sorting the finely crushed product into metal and resin by the specific gravity difference sorting. The sorting of metal and resin may be carried out after crushing of the sorted middle- and light-weight products.
