PURPOSE: To prevent the coaster from adhering closely to a placed container and to obtain a splendid product being easily useable and light in weight by placing a liquid transmission slit on the center side of a metallic sheet provided with a reinforcing frame on the peripheral edge part.

CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing frame is provided on the peripheral edge part of a metallic sheet of stainless steel, aluminum, etc. On the center side of the metallic sheet, a transmission slit for a liquid is placed. In accordance with a request, an ornamental pattern is formed by the transmission slit. When a leg part is provided on the peripheral edge part of the reverse side of the coaster, and a liquid storage gap is provided between said part and a base for placing the coaster, it is especially effective in the case of a cold drink. The led part can be provided on the whole peripheral edge of the reverse side of the coaster, or partially. When a storage chamber is provided by placing a supporting plate by placing the leg part between, and a liquid absorbing sheet is combined and used, it is effective for preventing contamination of the periphery caused by a transmission liquid.
