To provide a coated metal sheet with a heat shielding performance improved by lowering a near infrared absorption factor.
This coated metal sheet comprises ceramic particles 1 with a particle diameter of 0.07 to 0.9 μm uniformly dispersed in a coating film 2, the particle diameter of a particle agglomerate being limited to 1.2 μm or less. The ceramic particle 1 is of titanium oxide, magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, alumina or the like. Further, in addition to the ceramic particles 1, a pigment with a near infrared absorption factor of 70% or less may be uniformly dispersed in the coating film 2. This coated metal sheet is manufactured by first treating the ceramic particles 1 with an inorganic film or coupling the ceramic particles 1, then uniformly dispersing the ceramic particles 1 in a coating material resin and applying the obtained coating material to an original sheet to be coated to form the coating film 2.
