This coating composition for the inkjet recording medium contains a pigment and a binder. In this case, the pigment contains an organic pigment comprising a polymer which is obtained by polymerizing a monomer under the existence of a water-soluble polymer containing an alcoholic hydroxy group in an aqueous medium, and of which the glass transition temperature is 60°C or higher. Also, this inkjet recording medium is constituted by coating the coating composition on a supporting body.
