Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a coating compsn. for a wooden building material which is useful for making the conventionally unavoidable grinding step as simple as possible and lowers the degree of grinding to thereby prevent the scuffing of the substrate of the building material by compounding an ultraviolet-curable coating material with a specific silane coupling agent.
CONSTITUTION: This compsn. contains 100 pts.wt. ultraviolet-curable coating material and 0.1-5 pts.wt. silane coupling agent represented by formula I or II [wherein each R1 is independently methyl or ethyl; and R2 is vinyl, γ- methacryloxypropyl, γ-glycidoxypropyl, β-(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl)ethyl, γ- aminopropyl, N-β-aminoethyl-γ-aminopropyl, N-phenyl-γ-aminopropyl, γ- chloropropyl, or γ-mercaptopropyl] and may further contain up to 50 pts.wt. polyisocyanate.
