Abstract:
PURPOSE: A coating composition, containing a polymerized fatty acid polyamide resin and a copolymer of a vinyl monomer containing a carboxyl group with an oleophilic vinyl monomer, and capable of giving films having improved water resistance.
CONSTITUTION: A coating composition containing (A) a polymerized fatty acid polyamide resin and (B) a copolymer, e.g. styrene-acrylic resin, having 100W400 acid value prepared from a vinyl monomer, e.g. acrylic acid, having a carboxyl group and an oleophilic vinyl monomer, e.g. styrene, preferably at (80W99): (20W1)wt% ratio between the components (A) and (B), and if necessary a solvent, e.g. an alcohol, colorant, etc.
USE: Plastic films, cellophane, metallic foils, paper, etc.
