To obtain a coating compsn. which possesses excellent weather resistance by incorporating an alkoxysilane or a partial hydrolyzate thereof, a silicone resin, an alkyl-modified silicone oil, a dimethylsilicone oil, a hydrocarbon solvent and/or a volatile silicone.

This coating compsn. comprises: 100 pts.wt. alkoxysilane represented by formula I or a partial hydrolyzate thereof ; 50 to 200 pts.wt. silicone resin comprising 50 to 99 mol.% units represented by formula II and 1 to 50 mol.% units represented by formula III; 5 to 50 pts.wt. alkyl-modified silicone oil; 2 to 50 pts.wt. dimethylsilicone oil, with a viscosity (25°C) of 50 to 20 cP, represented by formula IV; 8,000 to 15,000 pts.wt. hydrocarbon solvent and/or volatile silicone; and 0.001 to 1 pt.wt. curing catalyst, the coating compsn. having a viscosity (25°C) of 1 to 1,000 cP. In the formulae, R1 represents a monovalent hydrocarbon; R2 represents a 1-4C alkyl; n is 0 to 2; R3 and R4 each represent a monovalent hydrocarbon; 0<m<2; and 1 is a positive integer.
