PURPOSE: To ensure that a coating material is applied uniformly and with high accuracy by providing a discharging member with a nozzle for applying the coating material to a material to be coated in such a manner that the discharging member is freely separated from the material to be coated using a drive member, and controlling the drive member by detection of a distance between the nozzle and the material to be coated.
CONSTITUTION: A dispenser 3 as a discharging means for discharging an adhesive has the adhesive charged in the main dispenser system, and discharges the adhesive from a nozzle 6 by air pressure of a compressed air supplied from a compressor 2 to coat a work 4. In this case, the dispenser 3 is so designed as to move freely in a separation direction from the work 4 using a drive means including a motor M. The nozzle 6 is equipped with a microswitch 7 as a detection means. The dispenser 3 moves in a direction where the work 4 is approached and the motor M is stopped through a controller 5, if the fact that the nozzle 6 has come in contact with the work 4 is detected by the microswitch 7. At the same time, the adhesive is applied to the work 4 from the nozzle 6.
