To provide a method for preventing coating troubles such as an occurrence of cratering at the discharging part of a coating material for an inner plate when an intermediate coating material, and a solid color coating material for an outer plate are applied on an electrocoated substrate.
The subject coating film forming method comprises the steps of coating the inner plate portion with the solid color coating material dedicated to the inner plate for applying an intermediate coating material to the outer plate portion on the electrocoated substrate having the inner plate part and the outer plate part, and thereafter, coating the outer plate portion with the solid color coating material for the outer plate, where each coating film is coated by the wet-on-wet method without hardening, and baking and hardening the wet coating films all at once. The coating viscosities of the intermediate coating material, the solid color coating material dedicated to the inner plate, and the solid color coating material for the outer plate are shown in the following order: the intermediate coating material>solid color coating material dedicated to the inner plate>solid color coating material for the outer plate; and the pigment concentrations (PWC) of the solid color coating material dedicated to the inner plate and the solid color coating material for the outer plate are the solid color coating material dedicated to the inner plate≥solid color coating material for the outer plate.
