To solve problems that long working time is required for identifying causes of coating film defects because of the personal inspection by workers, the tendency (time) of the coating film defects is hardly recognized because of the small number (N) of samples causing the coating film defects or the like.

The problems are solved by a coating quality management system provided with: a coating position image detecting device 1 for detecting the position and the image of the coating film defects of automobile body and a device 3 for collating the position data and the image data of the coating film defects F detected by the coating film position and image detecting device 1 with the position data and the image data of preliminarily accumulated past coating film defects F and analyzing to automatically output the causes and the change with time about the coating film defects F and to automatically accumulate the position data and the image data of the coating film defects F as data.
