Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating remover for optical fibers capable of simultaneously removing the coatings of plural pieces of the optical fibers held in parallel at prescribed intervals and are branched from an optical fiber ribbon. SOLUTION: This coating remover for the optical fibers holds plural pieces of the optical fibers 10 branched from the optical fiber ribbon 12 in parallel at the prescribed intervals by means of a holder 4. This holder 4 is fitted to the fitting part 5 of a substrate 2b and the respective optical fibers 10 are projected from opposite blade parts 2a, 2b and are positioned. The substrates 1a, 1b are then closed and the respective optical fibers 10 are guided by V- groove parts 3a, 3b of a guiding section 3. Further, the coatings (11) are simultaneously scored by the blade parts 2a, 2b and the holder 4 is moved backward, by which the coatings (11) of the respective optical fibers 10 are simultaneously removed.
