Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily remove an optical fiber coating intermediate part to a regulated size, to improve quality and safety without flawing and chipping at the optical fiber and to exactly remove the coating intermediate part without variations. SOLUTION: (1) This removing jig comprises slide guide plates (A), set groove members (B) and coated fiber fixing plates (C) which are respectively oppose to each other. The jig is provided with four pairs of upper, lower, right and left wating removing blades (D) enclosing the coating intermediate part of the optical fiber at the center of the plate (A). The plates (A) slide forward and backward and the members (B) and stationary plates (C) are fixed. The removing blades (D) are activated from the right and left to the center along the plates (A), by which the coating intermediate part exposed from the members (B) is removed exactly without irregularity. (2) The removing blades (D) are fixed at an angle of 25 deg.±2.5 deg. with horizontal. (3) The front ends of the removing blades (D) are offset by 1 to 2 mm and are fixed.
