Title:
CODE WORD MAPPING METHOD SUITABLE FOR MULTI-LEVEL MODULATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3815344
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that error rate characteristics are deteriorated at assigning post-transmission path encoding data to multi-level modulation bits in a conventional radio communication device.
SOLUTION: At executing code word mapping in radio communication equipment, different mapping patterns are set for each S/N, and the output code words of an encoder are not assigned uniformly to the multi-level modulation bits but weighted and assigned according to the error resistivity of the multi- level modulation bits, and the mapping pattern is switched and operated according to the S/N. Thus, it is possible to execute communication with high communication quality by updating the code word mapping method in order to always minimize an error rate according to the conditions or S/N rate of a transmission path.
