Title:
COLD ROLLING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3402217
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the life of rolls by supplying emulsion to the upside and underside of a steel sheet in an attaching position with a specified distance from the roll bite on the side of an upstream stand away from the roll bite.
SOLUTION: A tandem mill has No.1-No.5 stands (#1STD-#5STD). This rolling mill has work rolls 1, back-up rolls 2, coolant headers 4a for lubrication, coolant headers 4b for cooling and coolant headers 5 for lubrication on the inlet sides of the No.4 and No.5 stands and rolls a strip 3. In the positions of the coolant headers 5 for lubrication, the attaching distance L (m) of a spray header from the roll bite satisfies L≥Vin.tmin and, by taking as a position where is away from the roll bite as far as possible, phase transition time required for plate-out of the emulsion which is supplied to the surface of the steel sheet is secured at the maximum. Where, Vin shows the speed (m/sec) of the strip on the inlet side and tmin shows absolute minimum phase transition time (sec).
