Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a collagen molding neither shrinking nor distorting even if it is brought into contact with a physiological salt solution.
SOLUTION: A solute composition except collagen in a collagen solution is equilibrated into a state capable of gelatinizing collagen and collagen is gelatinized to prepare a collagen molding. Preferably the collagen solution is brought into contact with a physiological salt solution through a semipermeable membrane capable of passing other solutes but not collagen so that the physiological salt solution is equilibrated to gelatinize collagen. The collagen uniformly gelatinized under physiological salt conditions is obtained by gelatinizing collagen while equilibrating the solute composition in the collagen solution with the physiological salt solution.
