Abstract:
PURPOSE:To record an original in a color visually similar to the color of the original on a printer by previously storing chromaticity data of limited colors in a reference color table, obtaining a color difference distance between said colors and a color signal inputted from a scanner and selecting a color with a minimum difference. CONSTITUTION:R, G and B color signals 101, 102 and 103 read by the scanner l are inputted to a color identification circuit, which converts them from R, C and B coordinates to L*u*v*space coordinates in terms of chromaticity and holds the converted one. Then a control circuit 4 sequentially outputs the contents of the reference color table previously storing the Luv space coordinates of a color becoming a reference as data signals 301, 302 and 303 to the color identification circuit 2. According to two equations, the circuit 2 calculates the color difference between the data signal and the input color, transfers a color 5 code (i) with a minimun color difference to a color encoder through a signal 7, further transfers it to the printer 6 after decoding and records the color code.
