Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the color separating prism device which is small in size and light in weight and has decreased ghost flares while assuring a sufficient optical path length adjusting range with 2- or 3-CCD cameras.
CONSTITUTION: The position of a third prism 23 is changed in a range of 23b shown by an alternate long and short dash line from 23a shown by a broken line by an optical path length adjustment and the sufficient optical path length adjustment quantity is assured by a notch 29 disposed on a first prism 21 without increasing the prism length as the notch 29 is a relief for the adjusting range of the third prism 23. The incidence of stray light exclusive of the effective rays to a solid-stage image pickup element 24 is prevented by positioning the front end part of the notch 29 near an effective ray range 30b. The excellent optical color separating prism device capable of exhibiting an effect in decreasing the ghost flares is realized.
