To provide a powdery or particulate colorant composition which takes advantage of the high mixing ability and handleability of powdery colorants and a high adhesion property of liquid colorants against pellet resins and allows unrestricted color matching by makers of molded products, and a coloring process using the same.

A molding pellet which prevents color mottles in molded products is easily and inexpensively prepared by mixing a powdery or particulate colorant comprising a terpene resin or other brittle resins and a wax as vehicle resins, with an organic solvent which dissolves or swells the above- mentioned resins but does not dissolve a target resin to be colored and the target resin to yield a resin pellet attached by the colorant. Subsequently, the solvent is dried to yield a colored pellet.
