Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the automatic processing of chromatograph columun rows, by installing a cuvette means wherein all of the eluting solutions from a single column are captured in individual cells of a single cuvette means.

CONSTITUTION: A cuvette means 24 captures all of the eluting solutions from a single column, in individual cells of a single cuvette means. The cuvette means 24 is a nearly rectangular parallelopiped vessel and has facing isolated parallel side walls 26, 28, and facing isolated parallel end walls 30, 32 which are perpendicular to the side walls 26, 28. The cuvette means 24 defines four isolated cells 38a, 38b, 38c, 38d. A rack 42 retaining column rows has an upper plate 44 and a lower plate 46 which are separately retained and maintained by a plurality of cylindrical rods 48. An automatic cap elimination means 60 is constituted of slender thick stainless spring segments, and almost vertically stretches through the rectangular parts of holes 52, 54 of the upper plate and the lower plate of the rack 42.
