Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make construction labor-saving and reduce cost while improving strength.
CONSTITUTION: A column is provided with a column body 2 and a pair of column covers 3, 3' mounted around the column body 2. A pair of column covers 3, 3' are constituted of a pair of fitting frames 4, 4' and external facing material 5. The fitting frames 4, 4' are formed into approximately channel shape with flanges 4a disposed in such a way as to face each other, with lip pieces 4b formed by bending the tips of the flanges 4a inward and contact pieces 4c formed by bending the tips of the lip pieces 4b further inward. Joint parts 4d, 4d' are formed at the lip pieces 4b, and jointing work holes are provided in the positions of the flanges 4a adjacent to at least the joint parts 4d on one side among the opposed joint parts 4d, 4d'. The external facing material 5 is fitted to the outer surface of the fitting frames 4, 4' leaving the jointing work holes. The contact pieces 4c are brought into contact with the outer surface of the column body 2 to fit a pair of column covers 3, 3' to the column body 2 from both sides, and the opposed joint pats 4d, 4d' are jointed by bolts.
