PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a columnar or a prismatic alloy ingot for metal injection molding and a manufacturing method therefor, and a molding method for an injection molding product by solving such problems that alloy materials such as a magnesium alloy used for a die casting use a large-sized melting furnace which is unsealed at melting and SF-6 as an inert gas, as a result, a large amount of energy is consumed, waste gas containing SF-6 is generated at the same time, a work environment is deteriorated, air pollution and global warming are caused, and this become a big cause of an environmental deterioration, and a magnesium alloy material used for a thixomolding has fine particles and easily caused accidents such as fire, as a result, caution in handling is required, has a large surface area, as a result, the ratio of oxide and nitride generated by contact with air is enhanced, the quality of the alloy material is deteriorated and the yield of the product is also deteriorated, and the oxide or the like is deposited to a rotating face and a machining face of a molding machine, and inconvenience or accident is caused in rotation or machining, as a result, labor and time are required form the removing work.
SOLUTION: An alloy ingot formed in a columnar or a prismatic shape whose outer diameter is 20-240 mm and length is 100-1000 mm is used.
