Abstract:
To provide a combined ABS (antiblocking system)/airbag control unit capable of reducing complexity of an ABS system and an airbag system to be used for, in particular, a motorcycle, and the required space.
The control unit (1) has an ABS control algorithm (4). For use on motorcycles, the control unit (1) also includes an airbag algorithm (5) for actuating an airbag (10), a maximum of two but preferably only a single acceleration sensor (7) for detecting a collision, and a maximum of two but preferably only a single ignition stage (8) which generates a signal for igniting the airbag (10) when a collision is detected.
