Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure uniformity of mixing of fuel to air also in an engine wherein fuel is supplied from one side intake port.
CONSTITUTION: A combustion controller of an engine is provided with an intake port 18, a fuel injection valve 30 arranged on the intake port 18, and for injecting fuel, and a variable device 38 for vertically changing the fuel injection direction of the fuel injection valve 30 in the vertical surface. The fuel injection direction by the fuel injection valve 30 is set to the part upper than the center of the valve seat of the intake valve 34 in the vertical surface in the driving region where fuel is injected before the intake stroke. Moreover, in the operation range for injecting fuel during the intake stroke, the fuel injection direction by the fuel injection valve 30 is set to the part lower than the center of the valve seat of the intake valve 34 by the variable device 38.
