Abstract:

To reduce a stress around the opening part of a branch hole in the common rail type fuel injection apparatus of an engine.

This common rail 10 comprises a rail body 30 in which a main pipe hole 20 is formed. A main recessed spherical surface 21 is formed in the end wall part of the rail body 30, and a plurality of auxiliary recessed spherical surfaces 41 are formed in the main recessed spherical surface 21. The radius of curvature of the auxiliary recessed spherical surfaces 41 is set smaller than that of the main recessed spherical surface 21, and the branch hole 42 is opened to the auxiliary recessed spherical surfaces 41. Since the branch hole 42 can be formed in a portion with the radius of curvature smaller than that of the main recessed spherical surface 21, the stress can be further reduced.
