The communication apparatus includes a plurality of Web cameras 107 which are so set up that their shooting areas may be different and generate a video signal, a microphone array 106 which collects the sound emitted from a sound source and generates a sound signal, and a sound source direction information generating means which generates sound source direction information which indicates the direction of the sound source based on the sound signal generated by the microphone array 106. The communication apparatus takes the image of the speaker by the Web camera 107 whose shooting area includes the direction indicated by the sound source direction information and outputs the voice and image of the speaker toward the network.
