A communication network NW for performing communication among a plurality of terminals 201-20n connected to each other via a repeater 10 includes a first communication NW under a first protocol (using a token communication system) to which real-time property is requested, and a second communication NW under a second protocol to which real-time property is not requested. A main terminal 20j within the communication NW includes: a calculation means 25 for a token holding time required from reception of a frame containing a token from first other terminal within the first communication NW to transmission of the token to a second other terminal, within the first communication NW, to which the token should be delivered next; a stop means 26 for frame transmission from the repeater 10 to the terminal 20j itself within the token holding time; and a restarting means 27 for frame transmission from the repeater 10 to the terminal 20j itself after the lapse of the token holding time.
