PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of improving communication channel changeover accuracy.SOLUTION: The communication device includes: a first communication unit for communicating with another communication device through a first communication channel; a second communication unit for communicating with another communication device through a second communication channel; a communication channel monitoring unit for monitoring a communication state through the first communication unit; a changeover setup packet generator unit for successively generating changeover setup packets to be transmitted through the first and second communication units, on the basis of determination by the communication channel monitoring unit such that the communication state through the first communication unit is defective; and a changeover control unit for changing over between communication through the first communication unit and communication through the second communication unit, on the basis of the arrival sequence of the generated changeover setup packet at the other communication device, and the arrival sequence of response data in response to the changeover setup packet from the other communication device.
